The Eugene Emeralds picked up a win at PK Park, knocking off the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, 10-3. On the mound for Eugene was left-hander Marco Franco, who played a pivotal role in the win. The win boosted Eugene to 42-23.

Joel Gosselin had a big 2-run home run for the Emeralds in the bottom of the first inning. With Eugene leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Alex Cuenca and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Emeralds ahead, 4-0.

"I felt good even in the late innings," said Franco after the game.
