Reds Pull Off Thrilling 5-4 Win in Extras
|
The performance of Steve Lunstrum proved critical in helping Cincinnati (SS-A) beat Everett, 5-4. The Reds center fielder was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Wayne Collyer earned the save, his 1st, for the Reds. The last-place AquaSox have dropped 5 straight games.
Cincinnati (SS-A) used the timely hitting of Justin Easter to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Reds on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Reds manager Butch Harris.
