Astros Lose Contest, 8-7
Tony Escarpita added some punch to the St. Louis (GCL) offense, helping them outmuscle the Houston (GCL) Astros, 8-7. In the game, Escarpita was 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Carlos Aleman earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-3. The Cardinals are now 32-31, while the Astros fall to 49-14.

Escarpita contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for St. Louis (GCL) in the bottom of the eighth. With his team trailing 7-4, Escarpita took a fastball from Donnie Edwards and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Cardinals to leap in front, 8-7.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said St. Louis (GCL) manager Jayden Dunbar.
