Gardner Goes Deep Twice in 6-2 Hawks Win
|
Boise first baseman Bobby Gardner helped his team beat the Spokane Indians, 6-2. Gardner, who is tied for 8th in the NWL in hits with 75, went 2 for 3 for the Hawks. Butch Fetterman was the winner. He's now 3-3. The loser was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Justin Moga. The Hawks now own a record of 38-29.
With Boise leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Gardner hit a sinker from Justin Moga for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Hawks ahead, 5-0.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Gardner.
