Volcanoes Rally For Late Win Over Canadians
Vancouver pitcher Mario Pera gave the Volcanoes all they could handle, but in the end, Salem-Keizer left Volcanoes Stadium with a win, 2-1. Pera allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 8 innings. Salem-Keizer reliever Yhency Roman picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Mario Pena was tagged with the loss. With the win, the Volcanoes have a record of 35-34.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 21-year old second baseman Nestor Sanchez had a chance to be the hero. Vancouver pitcher Mario Pena wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Sanchez drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Volcanoes had themselves a thrilling win.

"This place was rockin'," Sanchez said.
