Atlanta (SS-A) Drops Boise, 6-1
|
The Boise Hawks had their hands full with Atlanta (SS-A) Braves starter Mario Santiago, who frustrated Boise hitters while leading Atlanta (SS-A) to a comfortable, 6-1 win. The Braves now have a record of 26-40.
Ben McGee had a big 2-run double for the Braves in the top of the fifth inning. With Atlanta (SS-A) leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Troy Stauffer and swatted a double to right. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Braves ahead, 3-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said McGee.
