Fisher Cats Nip Senators, 2-1
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Harrisburg Senators. New Hampshire won it, 2-1. New Hampshire starter Franklin Castro was in command. Preston Holub earned save number 1 this season. The loss drops Harrisburg to 14-9.
Ricardo Lopez had a big run-scoring double for the Fisher Cats in the bottom of the fourth inning. With New Hampshire leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Andres Rangel and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fisher Cats ahead, 2-0.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Harrisburg skipper Tan Timmermans.
