Twins Win 3-2 Walk-Off
|
The Minnesota (SS-A) Twins took Boise pitcher Xavier Kindley's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Lancaster Grounds. The final score had Minnesota (SS-A) getting past the Hawks, 3-2. Kindley went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 9. Luis Franco snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Shamar James suffered the loss. The first-place Twins hiked their record to 42-28.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Minnesota (SS-A) trailing 2-1, Jake Williams hit a fastball from Shamar James to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Twins had a walk-off win.
"The division is still up for grabs, but I like our chances," Williams told the Minnesota (SS-A) Gazette.
