Hawks Pin 5-0 Loss on Tri-City
|
Boise and Tri-City took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The Boise Hawks topped the Tri-City Dust Devils, 5-0, in Northwest League action at Gesa Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Boise pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Ramon Martinez. In 7 innings, Martinez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed no runs.
Boise used the hitting of Pablo Reyes to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hawks on top, 3-0. For the game, Reyes had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Martinez. "The only team that can beat us is us."
With the win, Boise pushed its record to 43-29.
