Canadians Moore No-Hits Hawks
|
Jhoandry Moore really did a number on the Boise Hawks at Nat Bailey Stadium -- and that number was zero.
The Vancouver Canadians hurler had what he later called "one of the best moments of my life," tossing a no-hitter and leading the Canadians to victory, 1-0.
"This is something special," Moore said. "I knew from the fifth inning that I had a no-hitter working. I tried to get it out of my mind, but you just can't. They have too many scoreboards in the park. They're everywhere you look."
The right-hander faced only 29 batters in the no-hit gem, struck out 7 and walked 2.
"We simply couldn't get any wood on the ball," Boise manager Rob Procise said when asked about the epic performance. "Moore was brilliant out there. He certainly had our number."
Checking out his stats for the year, Moore has racked up 8 wins and 1 loss in 15 starts, posted a 1.44 ERA, and struck out 107 batters in 94 innings.
