Volcanoes Need Extra Innings to Top Twins, 6-5
The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes overcame a pretty good performance by Minnesota (SS-A) left fielder Steve Lewison, beating the Twins, 6-5, in 10 innings. Lewison was 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Salem-Keizer has now won 4 straight.

The decisive blow was delivered by Paul Shrum in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 19-year old left-handed pitcher Marco Garcia to win the game for Salem-Keizer. The home crowd went nuts.

"This joint was rocking," said Shrum.
