Dust Devils Beat AquaSox, 3-1
|
The Tri-City Dust Devils got a stellar performance from pitcher Manny Dones, who handcuffed the Everett offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Gesa Stadium. In 5 innings, Dones surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Dust Devils go to 47-29, putting them third in the East Division.
Terry Hampton recorded an important out in the top of the ninth. The AquaSox were trailing 3-1, but Everett had a runner on 1st. With one out, Hampton threw Keith Burchfield a great slider and Burchfield hit into a double play.
