Twins Beat Emeralds, 5-1
|
Twins designated hitter Johnny Bedlecom put his stamp on his team's 5-1 win over the Eugene Emeralds. Bedlecom was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times for Minnesota (SS-A) in the contest. Matt Ensign earned the save for Minnesota (SS-A), his 1st of the year. The Twins are now 40-35, while the Emeralds fall to 41-35.
Minnesota (SS-A) used a clutch at-bat from Danny Aguilar to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Twins ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Aguilar described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
