White Sox Deal Canadians 3-2 Setback
|
The Chicago A (SS-A) White Sox picked up a win at Nat Bailey Stadium, knocking off the Vancouver Canadians, 3-2. Starting pitcher Jesus Parra played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Parra, now 8-3. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. With the win, Chicago A (SS-A) upped its record to 52-23.
Chicago A (SS-A) used the timely hitting of Edgar Cuahuizo to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the White Sox on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
In postgame comments to the Chicago A (SS-A) Observer, Cuahuizo said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
