The Helena Brewers weathered an outstanding game by Orem shortstop Steve Slotnick to topple the Owlz, 7-6. Slotnick went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Today's win puts Helena at 15-17, while Orem falls to 21-12.

Pat Pontius drew 1 walk for Helena. The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Bobby Doblado. It was his 9th RBI of the season.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Pontius, "but we got it done."
