Francisco Martinez, who is tied for 9th in the PIO in quality starts with 3, had a strong outing for the Portland Tigers against the Missoula Osprey at Hackers Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-3 win. Portland is in second place in the South with a record of 21-10.

Denny Ellington had a big 2-run triple for the Tigers in the bottom of the third inning. With Portland leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Angel Castro and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 5th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tigers ahead, 3-0.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Ellington.
