Billings Beats Missoula in Round 3

It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Billings Mustangs, that meant the Pioneer League Round 3 trophy.
The Mustangs took a 8-7 victory over the Missoula Osprey at Dehler Park, winning their 12th championship after taking the series 4-1.
"We've got grit," said Mustangs center fielder Mario Picon, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to."
The new titleholders completed the regular season with a third-place finish in the North and a 41-35 record.

Missoula Reliever Hurt

Missoula reliever Miguel Castro suffered a season-ending injury throwing a pitch in today's game against the Mustangs. According to club doctors Castro has a fractured coracoid bone in his shoulder. Although Castro has declined to comment, sources close to the player have stated that he is "devastated" that he will miss the playoffs.
This season, Miguel Castro has made 7 relief appearances, saving 0. His record is 1-1 with 19 strikeouts in 20.2 innings and a 3.05 ERA.
