7-4 Loss Extends Washington (Rk+) Skid
The Ogden Raptors topped the Washington (Rk+) Nationals, 7-4, in Pioneer League action at Lindquist Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ogden pitcher Mario Islas. Brian Day earned the save, his 5th, for the Raptors. Today's win puts Ogden at 29-8, while Washington (Rk+) falls to 7-31.

The Nationals had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Raptors going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old second baseman David Negrete came to the plate. Negrete hit a 2-run home run on a full count fastball from Washington (Rk+) hurler Toby Albano. It was Negrete's 9th home run of the year.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Islas said in reaction to the win.
