Andrew McCarthy did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Las Vegas (Rk+) Hustle from being beaten, 4-3, to the Billings Mustangs at Dehler Park. McCarthy went 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was David Valdovino. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. Jason Gaiser finished to wrap up his 3rd save.

The Mustangs got a big at-bat from catcher Justin Omundson. For the game, Omundson went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Billings a 3-1 lead.

"That's what this team is about," said Omundson, "picking each other up."

With the victory, the Mustangs upped their record to 20-18.
