In a tight contest between the Helena Brewers and the Cleveland (Rk+) Guardians, David Barragan was the determining factor. The Helena right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. Helena reliever Rich Hatin picked up the win, while Dustin Brace took the loss for Cleveland (Rk+). Daniel Reyes collected save number 1.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ricardo de la Torre? The 22-year old right fielder de la Torre stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Helena up, 2-0. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I was talking to myself on the mound, saying 'attack, attack, attack, stay convicted, no matter what,'" said Barragan.
The Brewers improved to a lofty 29-10.
