Nationals Pick Up 3-1 Win
|
The Chicago (Rk+) Cubs got a superb performance from pitcher Salvador Carrillo. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Washington (Rk+). The Nationals won the game, 3-1. Carrillo threw 5.0 innings allowing 3 runs. Chicago (Rk+)'s current losing streak has reached 5 games.
The Nationals got a big hit from first baseman Jim Miller. In the bottom of the fifth, Miller pounded a solo home run to left. His 1st home run of the season put the Nationals ahead, 3-1.
"Not to be Captain Obvious," said Chicago (Rk+) manager Justin Swanson, "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
