Guardians Saddle Hustle with 5-1 Loss
Cleveland (Rk+) beat Las Vegas (Rk+) on the strength of starting pitcher Bruce Santiago's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-1. By defeating Las Vegas (Rk+), the last-place Guardians improved to 18-25.

The Guardians got a big hit from second baseman Nick Smietana. In the bottom of the sixth, Smietana smacked a 3-run home run off Las Vegas (Rk+) pitcher Derek Blanchard. It was his 1st home run of the season. Suddenly, the Guardians were ahead, 3-1.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Smietana.
