The Portland Tigers withstood a fine game by Seattle (Rk+) catcher Marshall Powers at Ballpark of Sammamish, to upend the Mariners, 7-5. Powers was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Tigers now own a record of 31-13.

Chris Grise, who is tied for 8th in the PIO in doubles with 15, helped out the Portland cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the third baseman was 1-4 with a double and a walk.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Grise. "I just want to win ballgames."
