Hardy, Rockies Wallop Tigers, 10-2
|
John Hardy left his imprint on the 10-2 Grand Junction win against the Portland Tigers. Hardy, who is tied for 9th in the PIO in bases on balls with 29, went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Gabe Vasques, the winning pitcher, is now 2-1. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 2. Grand Junction currently is in third place in the South at 27-34.
Hardy contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Grand Junction in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Hardy took a changeup from Tony Ramos and stroked the home run to right-center. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Rockies to leap in front, 3-1.
Portland manager Jacob Gilroy called the blowout loss "a real stinker."
