Armando Damasco left his imprint on the 6-1 Chicago (Rk+) win against the Oakland (Rk+) Athletics. Damasco, who is tied for 6th in the PIO in home runs with 7, was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The third-place Cubs bumped their record to 24-28.

Andy Rustay had a big run-scoring double for the Cubs in the bottom of the second inning. With Chicago (Rk+) leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Pedro Sambrano and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cubs ahead, 2-0.

"I really like what we did out there today," Rustay said after the game.
