Athletics Beat Nationals, 6-5
|
Washington (Rk+) designated hitter Jeremiah Bell had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Bell went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times, even as Oakland (Rk+) beat the Nationals, 6-5. The save went to Ryan Middleton, his 1st this season. Oakland (Rk+) is second in the West with a record of 21-31.
Rey Torres, the 19-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Torres contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Oakland (Rk+) up, 3-1.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Torres said after the game.
