Brown Leads Cubs to 10-9 Win Over Mariners
The Chicago (Rk+) Cubs trumped the Seattle (Rk+) Mariners, 10-9, at Ballpark of Sammamish. Chicago (Rk+) second baseman Mike Brown was terrific. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. At 16-38, the Cubs claim last place in the East.

Chicago (Rk+) used the timely hitting of Bobby Ayala to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cubs on top, 10-9. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Swingers' gonna swing," said Brown, after the high-scoring affair.
