Voyagers Sneak By Nationals, 2-1
|
Runs were at a premium in the Great Falls-Washington (Rk+) matchup.
Great Falls Voyagers starter Gerardo Amaya turned in a sterling performance against the Washington (Rk+) Nationals, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Great Falls, at 42-13, occupies first place in the North.
Great Falls used a timely hit from Henry Daniels to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Voyagers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"The want-to is there for our guys," said Washington (Rk+) manager Dusty Hall. "We'll get this thing turned around."
