Tigers 3-1 Winners Versus Helena
|
Portland Tigers starter Tim Wood turned in an exceptional performance against the Helena Brewers at Kindrick Legion Field, resulting in a Portland win, 3-1. Francisco Martinez recorded his 1st save for Portland. Portland, now 41-16, holds down second place in the South.
In the bottom of the ninth, Russ Walter stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Brewers were trailing 3-1, but had the bases loaded. That's when Francisco Martinez made a terrific pitch and Walter flied out. Gone was the dream of a Helena comeback.
