Late Magic Gets Portland 6-4 Win
|
The Portland Tigers downed the Oakland (Rk+) Athletics, 6-4, at Ballpark of League City. The Tigers were led by Steve Diamond. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Portland reliever Mike Reeves was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Ryan Middleton took the loss. After today's action, Portland sits at 25-32; Oakland (Rk+) slips to 23-33.
Diamond had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-2 cutter from Ryan Middleton, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Tigers a 6-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Diamond.
