Nationals Deal Phillies Painful Loss
|
The Washington (Rk+) Nationals took Philadelphia (Rk+) pitcher Orlando Ontiveros's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Swine Ballpark. The final score had Washington (Rk+) getting past the Phillies, 7-6. Ontiveros went 5 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 6. Washington (Rk+), with the win, sits at 12-47.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Washington (Rk+) trailing 6-5, Josh Baker hit a cutter from Erik Underwood to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Nationals had a walk-off win.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Baker told the Washington (Rk+) Observer.
