Rangers Tack 8-1 Loss on Philadelphia (Rk+)
|
The Texas (Rk+) Rangers beat the Philadelphia (Rk+) Phillies by a score of 8-1. Texas (Rk+) designated hitter Chris Gross deserved the lion's share of the credit. Gross was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Rangers. Even with the win, the Rangers have a dismal 20-40 record.
Texas (Rk+) used a well-timed hit by Justin Finster to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Rangers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Philadelphia (Rk+) manager Larry Thorpe. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
