Edgar Perez left his imprint on the 7-2 Portland win against the Billings Mustangs. Perez, who is tied for 5th in the PIO with a 1.01 WHIP, threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. So far in 2109, Portland is 41-17.

Matt Garduno had a big 3-run home run for the Tigers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Portland trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Billy Villescas and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Tigers on top, 3-2.

"I still think this team can play even better," Garduno told the Portland Observer.
