Mustangs Roll Over Phillies, 9-4
|
The Billings Mustangs finished off the Philadelphia (Rk+) Phillies, 9-4. Much of the credit belonged to first baseman Hadyn DiPaolo. DiPaolo went 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 5 runs for the Mustangs. Chris Wagner got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Phillies to 4 runs on 3 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 4. The first-place Mustangs hiked their record to 42-30.
DiPaolo contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Billings in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-1, DiPaolo took a fastball from Tim Jennett and stroked the double to right-center. His 7th double of the season allowed the Mustangs to leap in front, 4-2.
"We're in the driver's seat," said DiPaolo. "I like our chances."
