Tigers Clip Voyagers, 5-4
|
Portland picked up a win at Centene Stadium, toppling the Great Falls Voyagers, 5-4. Pitcher Hector Rangel was one of the reasons the Tigers triumphed. The winner was Mike Reeves in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Travis Cole took the loss. John Powers earned the save, his 3rd, for the Tigers.
The outcome might have been different for Portland, had it not been for Ryan Larson, the 23-year old center fielder . Larson stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Portland up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Larson told the Portland Bulletin.
With the win, the Tigers improved to 28-33.
