Portland Beats Missoula, Goes to 43-20
|
The Portland Tigers got a rain-soaked win over the Missoula Osprey.
Portland pitcher Adam Simmons had a large part in his team beating the Missoula Osprey, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 5.1 innings, Simmons surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Willie Ochoa recorded his 7th save for Portland.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from shortstop Lorenzo Morin. For the game, Morin went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Portland a 3-2 lead.
"Good team win," Morin said. "I love it when a plan comes together."
Portland is sitting pretty at 43-20.
