Cubs Take Down Guardians, 7-3
The Chicago (Rk+) Cubs knocked off the Cleveland (Rk+) Guardians, 7-3, in Pioneer League action at Parrots Ballpark. Chicago (Rk+) pitcher and Villa Jaragua, Dominican Republic, native Melvin Sanchez had an outstanding performance. Chicago (Rk+) reliever Melvin Sanchez got the win, raising his record to 7-2. Tony Reyes was tagged with the loss. Victor Cisneros earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game.

It could have been a different outcome for Chicago (Rk+), had it not been for Tom Rich, the 23-year old first baseman . Rich contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Chicago (Rk+) up, 4-0.

"It feels good to get this one," Rich told the Chicago (Rk+) Chronicle.

By defeating Cleveland (Rk+), the third-place Cubs improved to 34-31.
