Norman Propels Mariners to 10-6 Win
|
The Seattle (Rk+) Mariners beat the Oakland (Rk+) Athletics by a score of 10-6. Seattle (Rk+) first baseman Rick Norman deserved the lion's share of the credit. Norman went 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Mariners. The win makes Seattle (Rk+) 30-37.
Seattle (Rk+) used the timely hitting of Ken Coots to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mariners on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The division is still up for grabs, but I like our chances," Coots told the Seattle (Rk+) Chronicle.
