Washington (Rk+) second baseman Josh Cipolla was sensational. He went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Texas (Rk+) beat the Nationals, 5-4. The win went to Nick Tormanen in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Rich Montalvo took the loss. The win puts the Rangers at 45-23, while the Nationals drop to 37-31.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Justin Finster came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Washington (Rk+) pitcher Rich Montalvo, he hit a 3-1 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Texas (Rk+) on top, 5-4.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Finster. "It sure beats the alternative."
