Brewers Lose Late to Guardians
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Cleveland (Rk+) Guardians and Helena Brewers.
Edwin Lucio, who is tied for 7th in the PIO with a 1.07 WHIP, was locked in. The right-hander led the Cleveland (Rk+) Guardians to a 5-3 win against the Helena Brewers at Kindrick Legion Field. Alex Chavez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 15 save opportunities.
Cleveland (Rk+) used the timely hitting of Preston Vail to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Guardians on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm happy we won," said Lucio. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
Cleveland (Rk+) now has a record of 53-16 with the win.
