Brewers Take Tight Tilt
|
The Helena Brewers withstood a fine game by Cleveland (Rk+) left fielder Josh Eubanks at Kindrick Legion Field, to upend the Guardians, 3-2. Eubanks went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Helena reliever Aaron Kenny picked up the win, upping his record to 9-7. Jonathan Perez was saddled with the loss. The second-place Brewers lifted their record to 33-38.
Gustavo Perez went 1 for 4 with a double for Helena. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Perez, who is tied for 8th in the PIO in doubles with 17, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Cleveland (Rk+) hurler Jonathan Perez, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Brewers a 3-2 lead.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Cleveland (Rk+) manager Jayden Brooks. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
