Mariners Topple Guardians, 9-5, as Wedler Shines
|
The Seattle (Rk+) Mariners powered past the Cleveland (Rk+) Guardians, 9-5, at Parrots Ballpark. Ryan Wedler provided some of the pop. Haystack was 4-5 with 2 triples and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Seattle (Rk+) is now 39-33, Cleveland (Rk+) 24-47.
With Seattle (Rk+) leading 6-5 in the top of the eighth, Wedler hit a fastball from Raul Novoa for a 2-run double. It was his 19th double of the season and put the Mariners ahead, 8-5.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Seattle (Rk+) manager Ted Allen.
