Cleveland (Rk+) got a valiant performance from pitcher Matt Bustin, but it wasn't enough to beat the Seattle (Rk+) Mariners. Seattle (Rk+) won the game, 2-1. Bustin threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Victor de la Rosa earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 2-3. The third-place Mariners sport a record of 32-44.
Seattle (Rk+) got a clutch hit from Ben Garves. The second baseman launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
