Tigers Suffer 12-1 Drubbing
The Houston (GCL) Astros routed the Detroit (GCL) Tigers, 12-1, at Ballpark of Belvedere. Manny Diaz was one of the hitting stars. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for Houston (GCL). David Tucker earned the win. Tony Reyes, who is tied for 10th in the GCL in wins with 6, took the loss for Detroit (GCL). The Astros, now 46-19, have won 11 in a row.

With Houston (GCL) leading 9-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Diaz came up to bat against Detroit (GCL) pitcher Gus Moreno. Diaz hit a changeup to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Astros on top, 12-1.
