Strauss Lifts Mets to 10-1 Win
The New York N (GCL) Mets defeated the Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates, 10-1, at Ensigns Ballpark today. Leading the charge for New York N (GCL) was designated hitter John Strauss. He hit 2 home runs. The Mets got a big hit from center fielder Paul Carson. In the bottom of the fifth, Carson pounded a bases-clearing double to left-center. His 25th double of the season put the Mets ahead, 5-1.
