Salmeron, Tigers Manhandle Blue Jays
The Detroit (GCL) Tigers pounded the Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays, 14-1, at Joker Marchant Stadium. David Salmeron, who is tied for 10th in the GCL in doubles with 15, had a solid game. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 4 runs and drove in 5 for the Tigers. Detroit (GCL) pitcher Edgar Perez got the win, upping his record to 6-1. John Bassett got the loss. After today's action, Detroit (GCL) sits at 32-36; Toronto (GCL) slips to 19-50.

With Detroit (GCL) leading 8-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Salmeron batted against Toronto (GCL) pitcher Ricky Becerra. Salmeron hit a fastball to center for a grand slam home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Tigers on top, 12-0.

"What a dreadful effort on our part," said losing manager Manny Miranda. "Someone will need to scrape us off the pavement."
