Clark Steals Spotlight, But Last Laugh Belongs to Baltimore (GCL)
|
The Baltimore (GCL) Orioles had to overcome a big game from Washington (GCL) third baseman Brian Clark to leave Space Coast Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 10-7. Clark was 3-3 with a home run, a triple, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. With the win, the Orioles have a record of 53-18.
Baltimore (GCL) needed the clutch hitting of Bob Pollock to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Orioles on top, 6-4. For the game, Pollock had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Pollock.
