Pirates Coast to 12-1 Victory
The Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates stopped the Philadelphia (GCL) Phillies, 12-1, behind an impressive performance from Curtis Sawyer. The 18-year old catcher made life miserable for Philadelphia (GCL) pitching. He went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Enrique Solano recorded the save for Pittsburgh (GCL), his 1st of the season. The first-place Pirates have won 4 in a row.

With Pittsburgh (GCL) leading 9-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Sawyer came up to bat against Philadelphia (GCL) pitcher Armando Cerda. Sawyer hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Pirates on top, 12-0.

"It's always fun to score a lot of runs," said Sawyer.
