Astros Pull Off Thrilling 5-2 Win in Extras
The Houston (GCL) Astros used a stellar performance from pitcher Hugo Jimenez to throttle the Minnesota (GCL) offense en route to an extra-inning, 5-2 win at Hammond Stadium. The win was credited to 21-year old right-handed pitcher Al Valerio in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Pablo Herrera took the loss. Houston (GCL) now has a record of 54-20 with the win.

Houston (GCL) used a timely hit from Fred Grabosky to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Astros ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Big win," said Jimenez.
