Braves Take Home 4-1 Win Over Boston (GCL)

The game between Atlanta (GCL) and Boston (GCL) is in the books, despite a little rain.
Dave Matlock never let the Red Sox get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Braves to a win, 4-1. Harry Bakken earned the save for Atlanta (GCL), his 2nd of the year.
Atlanta (GCL) designated hitter Jim Boyer contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 46th hit of the season and put the Braves ahead, 2-0.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Boyer.
Atlanta (GCL) is now 21-54, Boston (GCL) 40-34.
