Rays Cut Down Pirates, 7-4
The Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays weathered an outstanding game by Pittsburgh (GCL) designated hitter Kevin Todd to topple the Pirates, 7-4. Todd went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Danny Gonzalez recorded his 2nd save for Tampa Bay (GCL). The triumph puts Tampa Bay (GCL) at 47-29 for the season.

The Rays got a big at-bat from third baseman Tris Reich. For the game, Reich went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Tampa Bay (GCL) a 3-1 lead.
