Erie 5-3 Victors at NYSEG Stadium
|
Erie and Binghamton put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Erie SeaWolves defeated the Binghamton Mets, 5-3, at NYSEG Stadium. Leading the charge for Erie was designated hitter Israel Bonilla. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. The winning pitcher was Edgar Perez. He's now 3-0. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits for the SeaWolves. The save went to Ryan Cardone, his 6th this season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Miguel Rubio? The Erie left fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the SeaWolves on top, 3-2. For the game, Rubio had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Bonilla said.
Erie goes to 13-12.
